Group Sessions Starting Soon!
Timberline counselors provide short-term, goal-focused counseling to help students with their social and emotional well-being. One way we provide support to students is by facilitating small group counseling sessions where students can learn together and support each other. We are starting a new group in January and invite any students who are interested to attend.
Family Support Group 6 week group held Tuesdays during Advisory January 21-February 25
The purpose of this group to help students who are experiencing the separation or divorce of their parents.
In the group, students will explore feelings and normalize a range of emotions related to family changes and transitions, including learning about grief and the loss process. Through this group, students will learn how to identify, label, and communicate their feelings about the changes happening in their families.
Students will identify stressors that are often experienced when a family goes through the changes of separation or divorce and discuss how to better handle stress. They will learn about positive decision making and safe choices as they experience changes in their families.
Students will provide each other with a safe and positive space to express themselves and to support each other in their shared experiences.
If you are interested in participating, download this permission form and turn it into the counseling office by Monday, January 13th. If you have questions, contact JoAnne Colemere at email@example.com.
